Paul Cooney began his career in education as a middle school teacher in Kimberly at JR Gerrits Middle School. He taught Reading, Social Studies, Science and Math during his 8 years in Kimberly.
He began his administrative career as an assistant principal in Menasha at Maplewood Middle School. He moved on to take over the Principal role in Brillion where he was the elementary and middle school principal and then solely elementary principal for a total of 9 years.
He has been in the AASD since 2008 as the principal of Edna Ferber Elementary School.
From a young age, Katie Hardesty knew she was destined to work in education. Katie grew up in Greenfield, WI and attended the Whitnall School District. As a teenager, she began working at YMCA summer day camps starting as a camp counselor and spending her last summer there as assistant camp director. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree and teaching license from Carroll College (now University).
Katie began working in the Appleton Area School District in 2001 and has taught at Ferber Elementary, and Wilson and Einstein Middle Schools. She earned her Masters of Art degree from Marian College. Katie currently serves as the Associate Principal of both Ferber and Houdini Elementary Schools.
Katie loves spending time with her family, running, traveling and reading.
